The violins of Giuseppe Carlo Bobbi are renowned for the expert choice of the wood as the long ripening of the essences employed, particularly spruce and maple.
But also and not except they are appreciated for the treatment of the wood and its varnish conferring them a special sound, judged excellent from the musicians.
In 2018 we learned about the existence in the UK of a violin made by Giuseppe Carlo Bobbi.
The violin can be seen in this video and, as Lance Tunley of Caswell’s says “… it’s really perfect.. The violin was sold by Voight in London around 1950. The nephews of the original purchaser brought it to me and the I bought it from them, it sounds great and has a very full projection tone … “.
